First Thanksgiving

 This year we were on our own for Thanksgiving. I wanted to make it special for Steve and Hallie, since  last year Steve spent his Thanksgiving out on patrol in Afghanistan and this is Hallie's first Thanksgiving. I have never cooked a turkey before and I was really worried it wouldn't turn out. Fortunately, it all turned out great! We enjoyed spending the entire day together and have lots of yummy food left to eat for the next week.  I am so grateful for my little family. I have a beautiful, funny intelligent daughter and a wonderful husband. I am so blessed.. I would also like to thank my mom  for helping me through my first turkey! sorry for all the phone calls ( you are always there for me and I can't express  how thankful I am to have such a wonderful mom)

Hallie is in love with dishwashers. Our dishwasher door does not go as low as my mom's....  so she has never been able to climb on in, but at Grandma's she makes herself right at home as soon as the door opens.

The Flowbee Experience


The Flowbee for my family is like a right of passage. Every boy in the family has been Flowbeed. ( Steve too!) Hallie joined the ranks today with her first haircut and first Flowbee. For those of you who don't know what a Flowbee is, I will explain. Many many years ago, there was an inginous product for sale on television. It allowed you to cut your hair with ease and simultaniously clean up. ( it attaches to the vaccume and hair is sucked up into the blades to be cut and the cut pieces are sucked into the vaccume.) My family has used and loved the Flowbee for years. I knew Hallie's hair was getting a little long, but was hesitant to have it cut. My Dad offered to cut it for me and I let go and just let it happen. For most of the day I regretted my decision, but the more I look at it I realize it is an improvement. Thanks DAD!!

HALLIEWEEN

So it was Hallie's first Halloween and I was super excited. I was planning on making a costume, but waited too long and knew it would never be completed in time. Instead, we bought a peacock costume and it turned out to be pretty awesome. Hallie loved Halloween. She liked watching all the kids walking around and loved going to the door when trick or treaters rang. She even loved all those animatronic Halloween decorations that are meant to scare little kids. She would just point at them and go OOO!  We spent most of the night at Grandpa and Grandma Hunters, eating chili and playing with the cousins.  It was super fun!! I am so happy Hallie loved her first Halloween!   Here are a ton a pics ( this is for you mom).

Splish Splash

Hallie loves to splash, in the bath, at the pool, in Lake Powel, if there is water.. she will slap it.  We went to the PG pool today for our last swim of the season. Unfotuanely Hallie fell asleep on the way over and was not happy to be woken up, and then put into the water. She warmed up to it  after a few minutes and began splashing like crazy. I wish I had taken her to the pool more, but there is always next year.

Hey, Hey We're the Monkeys!

Steve, Hallie and I went to the Zoo last Thursday. I had never been to the Hoogle Zoo before and this was Hallie's first time to any zoo. Hallie loved the monkeys and gorillas, probably because they moved around alot and were closer than the other animals.  I can't wait to take her back to the zoo, it really was a great family activity.
